Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that the attacks and bombing which took place last month on Eastern Aleppo were justified. He explained that that was the price which had to be paid to free the people from under the control of the terrorists.
On the other hand, the UN said that the air strikes by the Syrian Government Forces and its allies will probably be considered war crimes.
It is estimated that more than 21,000 people lost their lives in Aleppo over the last five years of conflict. The hope is that with the help of Turkey, Russia and even Iran, a peace agreement will be reached in talks which are banned to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan.
