He’s 100 years old, has seven children and is a priest. But that’s not all. Four of his sons are also priests.
This is the unusual story of Don Probo Vaccarini from the Cathedral of Rimini in Italy, where tomorrow a thanksgiving mass will be held for his birthday.
Born in 1919, Don Vaccarini experienced first hand the hardship of war, and later worked as a surveyor. He got married and brought up seven children, but when he was just 51 years old he was widowed. It was then that he set his sights on the priesthood and was ordained at the age of 69.
In addition to working in the parish, Don Vaccarini has written 15 books, including the autobiography -“Sposo, Vedovo e Sacerdote ‘ – Married, widowed and Ordained. ”
