111 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours, and there have been another 199 recoveries.
This means the number of active cases is now 1,972.
36 Covid patients are being given treatment at Mater Dei Hospital. One of the patients is in the Intensive Care Unit.
The new cases emerged from 3,693 swab tests, which pushed up to 1,087,183 the total number of swab tests carried out so far.
The number of persons who have been infected with the virus since it surfaced in Malta has gone up to 34,201.
And the number of recoveries, according to the authorities, is 31,410.
755,655 doses of the vaccine had been administered up to yesterday. Of these, 398,444 constituted first doses.
The number of fully vaccinated persons has gone up to 379,016.
Of the 95 cases announced yesterday, the average age was 33 years.
The number of Covid victims has remained 423.
