119 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Malta during the past 24 hours, folllowing 2,571 swab tests.
The health authorities also announced that 211 other persons recovered from the virus, with the number of persons who recovered from Covid since the pandemic emerged now stands at 13,646.
Since March, 16,542 persons tested positive for Covid, while there are now 2,646 active cases.
The health authorities did not provide details about the origins of yesterday’s cases, while declaring that 17,767 vaccinations were given till yesterday.
Two persons, an 89-year old woman and a 77-year old man, who were positive with Covid died during the past 24 hours. The elderly woman died at the Good Samaritan Long Term Care Facility and the man died at Mater Dei hospital.
