143 new cases of Covid-19 in Malta – and another 201 recoveries

The Superintendent of Public Health has announced that 143 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in Malta after 3,111 swab tests were carried out over the past 24 hours.

In the course of her weekly update on the Covid-19 situation, Professor Charmaine Gauci also announced another 201 recoveries, which brings up to 13,435 the total number of persons who have recovered since the start of the pandemic.

16,423 persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in Malta since March, of whom 2,740 are active cases.

The health authorities also announced the deaths of three persons since yesterday, whilst further announcing that a total of 16,531 vaccinations have been administered so far, adding that Cohort 1 is proceeding well and Cohort 2 has also started.
