15 new cases of Covid-19 in Malta – one person recovers

The number of active cases of Covid-19 has continued to increase.

In their medical bulletin for the past 24 hours up to 12 noon of Sunday, the health authorities stated that another 15 positive cases have been identified after 1,418 swab tests were carried out.

The health authorities added that the majority of these new cases had not gone to work when they experienced symptoms.

They further stated that four of the cases are linked to the St Venera feast. Two other cases are imported. Two more are from a group who had gone to Paceville, and the rest are not linked to known cases.

The authorities added that contact tracing is ongoing.

The number of cases now registered in Malta since the start of the pandemic stands at 860, of which 185 are still active.

During the past 24 hours one person recovered from the virus, and the number of persons in Malta who have recovered from Covid-19 since March is now 666.
