150 students have enrolled for teachers’ course
Education Minister, Evarist Bartolo, said that this year 150 students have enrolled at University to read for a degree to become teachers.
During the inauguration of the new MUT offices, Minister Bartolo said that the country is going to be facing a great challenge to find enough teachers for English, maths and the sciences.
He announced that in the near future the Government would be announcing measures to reduce the amount of work being placed on teachers which is becoming more. difficult as time goes by.
He said that it is estimated that by the year 2030, the world will need 69 million teachers. He pointed out that in Malta we have the largest group of young teachers when compared with other EU countries.
