Two new Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Malta from 700 tests carried out yesterday bringing the total number of people infected with the virus to 450.
This was reported during today’s press briefing where Professor Gauci said 4 other people had recovered from the virus – children under the age of 9 and 2 adults.
So far 286 have recovered while 160 cases remain active
Of the two new cases, a 40-year-old Maltese man who was in contact with another person has tested positive. The man was in quarantine so there was no risk of further exposure. His family is being contacted and traced.
Another 68-year-old Maltese man has tested positive and contact tracing is being carried out at his workplace and among his family members.
