200kg of cannabis found among melons and watermelons

The Anti-Drug Squad has made another successful drug haul. Late on Thursday afternoon, two vans which had long been under surveillance, were found to have been carrying more than 200 kilos of cannabis.

Three people were arrested in connection with this drug haul – one Maltese and two Italians – who were in the vehicles. From information obtained by TVM, the drugs were found in several crates packed with melons and watermelons. The drugs were hidden underneath the fruit.

More details as they come in.
