The Ministry of Health has confirmed 203 new cases of Covid-19 after 3,345 swab tests were performed in the last 24 hours.
Health authorities also announced that another 175 people had recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of people who had recovered from the virus since the start of pandemic to 13,976.
Since March, 16,861 positive people have been detected in Malta of which there are 2,632 active cases.
Health authorities did not provide any details on the origin of yesterday’s cases, stating that a total of 19,981 vaccines had been given by yesterday.
In the last 24 hours, a 76-year-old woman lost her life while testing positive for COVID-19 at St. Vincent de Paul. Two days ago, on 23 January, a 79-year-old man died at home while testing positive for COVID-19.
