23 new cases of Covid-19, 4 further recoveries

In the last 24 hours 23 people in Malta tested positive for Covid-19, after 1,618 swabs were carried out. Four other people have recovered, bringing the total number of active cases to 415.

Health authorities said that one case was imported, while the other two were part of the Paceville cluster. As for the rest, contacts are being carried out by the contact tracing team.

As of yesterday there were 4 people in Mater Dei hospital, none of them in the intensive care unit. Twenty other people were being held at Boffa hospital and St Thomas hospital, with Health Authorities confirming with TVM that there patients were being kept in hospitals as a precautionary measure because they could not self-isolate at home.
