41 doctors in Italy investigated on issuing false certificates

The Guardia di Finanza are investigating 41 doctors after a number of them issued sickness certificates to their colleagues who did not want to report for work because they were afraid of getting ill with Covid.

The Guardia di Finanza in Catanzaro got to know that 13 doctors working with the 118 emergency service had not turned up for work after presenting false sickness certificates.

It resulted from initial investigations that many of the doctors who had issued false certificates for their colleagues had not even gone to visit them, and had issued the certificates after just a phone call.

The Guardia di Finanza found out also that the doctors who had not reported for work because they said they feared Covid, still continued to work privately.
