55 new cases of Covid-19 in Malta – and another 45 recoveries

The health authorities have announced that 55 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in Malta over the past 24 hours after 2,227 swab tests were carried out.

And another 45 recoveries were announced between yesterday and today, pushing up to 28,508 the total number of recoveries from the virus.

29,463 persons have been infected with the virus in Malta since the start of the pandemic, and there are presently 554 active cases.

The latest figures also show that the number of persons vaccinated to date stands at 227,606, of which 63,114 are the second dose.

It was also announced that one person died during the past 24 hours when positive with Covid-19.
