65 recruits – 54 men and 11 women – have joined the Police Force as constables after they completed the Training Course for Recruits.
The Police Force said that the four-month training was run by the Academy of Disciplined Forces and included physical and academic training.
During the recruitment ceremony in Ta’ Kandja this morning, Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa’ spoke about the new constables’ duty to provide a professional and trusted service to ensure a safe country, in partnership with the community. He also emphasized on the importance that this will guide them during their daily duties.
Interior and National Security Minister, Byron Camilleri augured the new recruits in their new job and encouraged them to continue studying and advancing in their career.
Contable Matthew Galea was presented with the Mark Farrugia Shield award as the recruit who mostly distinguished himself during the course.
