Health authorities have confirmed that in the last 24 hours, 68 people in Malta tested positive for Covid-19 from 1940 swab tests carried out.
14 other people were said to have recovered from the virus. Since the pandemic broke out, 2,981 people have recovered.
Since March, 3,844 positive people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Malta, of which there are currently 820 active cases.
Health authorities said the new cases are still being investigated.
Of the cases found yesterday, 22 were family members of someone who had previously tested positive for the virus; 11 were colleagues of person or persons who had tested positive, another came into direct contact with a person who had previously tested positive; another was from a cluster of people who had tested positive, others were from the Paceville cluster while 2 are imported.
