70 participants to take part in International piano competition in Malta

A piano competition at international level is to be held during the Malta International Music Festival, which is spread over 15 days.

Out of a total of 728 participants representing 74 countries in eleven competitions, 70 pianists have been chosen to take part in this competition, which starts today in Malta. The competition is divided into two phases, with separate judging under Maestro Constantine Orbelian, artistic director of the National Academy of Armenia. Maestro Orbelian spoke with TVM about the criteria which the judges will adopt to choose the best pianist.

The Artistic Director of the European Foundation for Support of Culture, which is responsible for the Malta International Music Festival, stated that the level of the festival is very high, as some renowned pianists who have already won international festivals have entered for this competition.
