82 new cases of Covid-19 in Malta, another 293 recoveries, 30 hospitalised

82 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours after 3,346 swab tests were carried out, and there have been another 293 recoveries. This means the number of active cases has now dropped to 1,333.

Simultaneously, there are now 30 patients who are receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital because of Covid symptoms, five of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit.

The total number of persons who have been infected with the virus has gone up to 34,590, and the number of recoveries is now 32,438.

765,417 doses of the vaccine had been administered up to yesterday, of which 401, 644 constitute first doses. The number of fully vaccinated persons has now gone up to 387,400.

It results from the new cases announced yesterday that the average age was 37 years. The number of victims of Covid remains 423.
