91 new cases of Covid, another 125 recoveries, 36 hospitalised

91 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours and there have been another 125 recoveries. The total number of active cases is now 2,194.

The number of victims of Covid-19 has now gone up to 423 after two elderly men, a 95-year-old and an 86-year-old, died when positive with Covid-19.

The number of patients recovering at Mater Dei Hospital because of Covid is now 36. One of the patients is in the Intensive Care Unit.

The new cases emerged from 3,862 swab tests, which have pushed up to 1,079,695 the total number of swab tests to date.

The number of persons infected with the virus since it surfaced in Malta in March 2020 has now gone up to 33,995.

And those who according to the health authorities have recovered from the pandemic total 30,982.

750,641 vaccinations had been administered up to yesterday, of which 396,087 constituted first doses. The number of fully vaccinated persons has gone up to 373,771.

Of the 142 new cases announced yesterday, the average age was 35 years.
