Agreement reached between Steward Healthcare and MUMN re Department of Physiotherapy
An agreement has been reached between Steward Healthcare and MUMN regarding the Department of Physiotherapy at St. Luke’s Hospital.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said that after an intervention by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne, a meeting was called between the Ministry of Health, Steward Healthcare and the MUMN where an agreement on the future of the Department of Physiotherapy at St. Luke’s Hospital was reached.
A work plan for this department as well as new services which would be offered were discussed during the meeting. It was agreed that works would commence during the summer with the project expected to be concluded by end of October.
Minister Dr Fearne thanked the Steward Health Care team led by Dr Nadine Delicata for formulating the project in such a short time, with the full cooperation of employees and social partners.
Among the additional services there will be a host of other services, including exercises for people with Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis. training sessions for people who have suffered a stroke and post-operative rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery, physiotherapy services for diabetics and a gym for the assessment and treatment of patients with neurological problems.
