Another heatwave is expected to affect the Maltese islands in the coming days.
The Meteorological Office said that temperatures are expected to rise between 37 and 39 degress Celsius from Thursday, with the heatwave expected to continue till next Sunday.
The Met Office stated that the heatwave is the result of high pressure coming from North Africa, with slight to moderate wind from Northwest. Humidity will be low and therefore, temperatures will rise.
The Maltese islands experienced the first heatwave of this summer last June, during which temperatures reached 41.5 Celsius for twelve days. This was the highest temperature ever recorded during June.
