Updated – Man in danger of dying after traffic accident in Għajnsielem, Gozo

A motor-cycle driver is in danger of losing his life after an accident that occurred in afternoon in Ghajnsielem, Gozo.

The incident occurred at about 15:45 hrs in Mgarr Road, between a 44 year old Ukranian man from St Julians who was driving a Hyundai i20, a Toyota Vitz driven by a 46 year old woman from Gharb and a Triumph Tiger Explorer XC motor-cycle driven by a 59 year old man from Xagħra.

As a result of the accident, the two vehicles and the motor cycle crashed into another two parked vehicles – a Nissan Micra and a Toyota Pirus.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and an ambulance was called on site which took the motor-cycle driver to hospital for treatment where he was certified to be in danger of dying. The woman, who suffered extreme shock, was also taken to hospital.

Duty Magistrate Dr. B. Sultana was informed of the incident whereupon a umber of experts were appointed to help her in her investigations. Investigations are ongling.

This is the second incident to have occurred in the same road in the span of one week. One of the victims of last week’s incident – a 41 year old Latvian – lost her life today.
