Apple to open outlets in India next year

The Chief Executive of Apple, Tim Cook, has announced that the company will be opening its first outlets in India next year.

Mr Cook made his announcement during a meeting for shareholders, stating the company had first to obtain authorisation from the Indian Government.

It has been stated that Apple’s presence in India had been expected, but the announcement of an opening date is new. India is the world’s second-largest market for smartphones.
