Applications for MATSEC examinations open with reduced fees

With applications having just opened for the MATSEC examinations, the Education Ministry said in a statement that the reduction in fees will start applying, as announced in the 2017 Budget and in Government’s electoral manifesto.

Fees will be halved for this year, and there will be no charge for examinations as from next year. The statement adds that the ultimate aim of this measure is for education to be more accessible for everyone, whilst reducing financial difficulties which might have resulted in students not sitting for these examinations.

A few weeks ago the Ministry reminded that, also for the first time, another measure had come into effect, with MATSEC O-level and even A-level papers being made accessible to the public at no charge.
