WATCH: Cruise liner tossed about in rough seas off Norwegian coast

There had to be a dramatic evacuation on a cruise liner carrying 1,300 passengers after it suddenly stopped operating just off the Norwegian coast yesterday. The MV Viking Sky was caught in turbulent seas and strong winds. About 500 passengers, many of them elderly, had to be hoisted off the ship by helicopters and landed on firm ground.

The operation began yesterday after the ship sent out a distress message requesting help. It was later reported that the liner’s engines recommenced operations and the passengers remaining on board were landed at the port of Molde.
