WATCH: Costumed as “super heroes” to entertain children recovering in hospital

A number of “super heroes” this morning descended down one of the facades of Mater Dei Hospital. These were members of the Mosta Scouts Group in an initiative aimed at surprising children recovering at the hospital over the Easter holiday period.

Spiderman, Superman, Wonderwoman, Batman and Robin . . . were among the “super heroes” who took part in the abseiling event – aiming to gain smiles, excitement and admiration from hospitalised children.

Assistant Mosta Group Scout Leader, Sean Bartolo, said that instead of merely obtaining pleasure just for themselves from abseiling, the Group decided to entertain hospitalised children. Some of the costumes were sponsored and others were donated following a Facebook appeal for costumes.

Spiderman was one of those happy to have made the children in hospital smile.

The Scouts also distributed soft toys in the various wards, a gesture much appreciated by the children there.
