WATCH: Election Day atmosphere in Mosta, Żabbar and Xagħra in Gozo

It has now been 11 hours since voting booths opened for elections to the EU Parliament and Local Councils.

Various personalities went to cast their vote including the President Dr George Vella, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Opposition Leader Adrian Delia.

Polling booths opened at 7 am and will close at 10 pm.

At about 6 pm TVM visited Mosta, Żabbar and Xagħra in Gozo.

TVM and will continue with regular updates today, and from 6.30 am tomorrow, Sunday, a special programme will be broadcast when first trends start to emerge regarding results in the European Parliament elections.
