WATCH: What did the PM have to say about HSBC’s decision?

In a comment made to TVM, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said he is in contact with HSBC Malta Bank’s CEO.

Dr Muscat said that banks, including HSBC, should be continuing to strengthen the service they provide by increasing it rather than decreasing it, in order to serve their clients

This was done to the background of the HSBC’s decision to close down nine branches from around Malta.

Dr Muscat said banks should hold discussions with the community where they intend to close branches to assist better those persons who do not use ATMs.
