WATCH: Horse bolts at Marsa after jockey falls off sulky

A startled and frightened horse continued to gallop alone along the Marsa Racecourse after its jockey fell off the sulky and was slightly injured.

The incident happened just before this afternoon’s racing programme, when the horse Metallic Beat, who last week won a final, took a fright.

As a result its jockey fell  off and had to be taken to hospital, but was luckily certified to have suffered only light injuries.

The horse continued to run along the course without venturing out into the road and after a lengthy run seemed to have calmed down and was then successfully stopped by a group of men.
