Archbishop removes Fr Deo Debono as Parish Priest of St Augustine Parish

Yesterday evening’s Mass at St Augustine’s Church in Valletta, in which Fr Deo Debono was one of the celebrating priests, was his last one in public, at least for now.

This follows the decision by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna who ordered Fr Debono not to exercise the priesthood ministry in public until Police investigations and any other proceedings at the Civil Courts remain pending.

An Archbishop’s Curia statement said that in agreement with the Augustine Friars Provincial, Fr Leslie Gatt, the Archbishop also decided that Fr Deo Debono should refrain from his duty as Parish Priest of St Augustine’s parish in Valletta.
