UPDATE: Armed man carries out hold up at Tarxien shop

A man armed with a knife and wearing a mask stole €100 during a hold up at a shop in Tarxien. The case occurred in Triq Karlu Maratta at around 12.30pm this afternoon.

The man told the cashier to give him all the money including the mobile cards which she had in the cash register.

The cashier is a 27-year old woman from Żabbar. At the time of the hold up, another female employee – a 46-year old Tunisian from Cospicua – was also in the shop.

Although the two employees were not injured, they were treated for shock by a medical team.

The Police are investigating the case.
