Arrested after vandalising five cars in Qawra
A 25-year old Nigerian is being held in custody by the Police in connection with vandalism acts on at least five cars in Qawra.
The case occurred on Monday night when the man started smashing with an iron rod a number of windscreens of cars parked in Triq tal-Bilbel.
The Police confirmed with tvm.com.mt that the man was arrested shortly after assistance was requested to Qawra station police.
Residents speaking with this site said that the man was arrested on the Qawra church parvis after officers were forced to use pepper-spray when the man resisted the arrest and bit a police officer.
The man is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming hours, charged with cars vandalism, breaching public peace and resisting police arrest.
