Avion Express with subsidiary company in Malta

The biggest aviation company in Lithuania, Avion Express, has been granted certification by Transport Malta to start operating a subsidiary company in Malta.

Minister Ian Borg announced in a Tweet that this is the 36th company which has been certified by Malta to operate in this sector, pushing up the number in the register of aviation companies to 322.

Transport Malta announced in a statement that Avion Express Malta will start operating with Maltese certification in the coming days. It added that the company’s first aircraft will be an Airbus A320 with registration 9H-AMA.

Avion Express is the largest operator worldwide which leases narrow-body aircraft. It was set up in 2005, and has an income of 80 million euro per year. Its quarters are in Vilnius, but as part of its expansion operations it is setting up a subsidiary company in Malta.

Avion Express announced this year that it will be operatng 22 Airbus A320 aircraft, the biggest ever fleet owned by the company since it was set up.
