Baker from Qormi held under arrest after stabbing a man in argument

A 46-year-old baker from Qormi has been held under arrest after he was charged with stabbing another man during an argument which broke out on Sunday afternoon at the Labour Party club in Qormi.  Alfred Galea was charged with attempted murder and of being a relapser who is already serving a Court sentence.  The Court heard that, originally, the fight allegedly started between third parties and the accused had tried to break up the fight. It is being alleged that at one point the accused took out a knife and wounded the victim. The Prosecution argued that if Galea is granted bail then he can pose a danger to the victim who meanwhile is still being treated in hospital and needs to testify in this case.
