Bernard Grech convenes urgent Executive meeting in connection with Facebook posts by PN MPs

Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech has convened an urgent meeting of the Executive Committee. The meeting will be held tomorrow at 7.00 p.m.

The Nationalist Party said in a statement that the meeting has been called after it had been noted that posts by MPs on social media could be in contravention of party regulations.

The Party said the meeting has been called so that, according to the Statute, the Executive Committee will take all decisions it considers necessary in these circumstances.

This after Nationalist Party MP Jason Azzopardi posted on Facebook that Vincent Borg had been found guilty of defaming him and had been fined 1,000 euro. Dr Azzopardi added that in order to see the party more united, he had forgiven Borg. In a later reference to this post, MP Adrian Delia put a number of questions to Azzopardi and asked him, among others, to declare all he had earned in tax and explain how close his links were with the Fenech family.
