Biden describes gun violence in US as an epidemic which embarrasses the country
US President Joe Biden has issued an executive order which adderesses the issue of non-registered guns, known as ghost guns. He described the gun violence as an epidemic which is embarrassing the country internationally.
He therefore announced that he will introduce a number of new measures through this executive order which does not require approval from Congress.
Biden said that 106 people are killed every day in shootings in the US and that this epidemic needs to be stopped.
A few hours after the Presidential address, an armed man killed a person and wounded five more in a shooting in Texas. On Wednesday, five people, including two small children were killed in a shooting in South Carolina.
