Biden warns Putin against interfering in the election

In his first phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Joe Biden warned him against interfering in the election. The White House said that President Biden has made it clear that the US will react strongly to defend its national interests, to any actions from Russia which can cause damage to the US or its allied countries.

It is being reported that the conversation included discussions on the current protests by the Opposition in Russia and the extension of the nuclear arms pact between the two countries.

According to a statement from Russia, Putin congratulated the new President on winning the election.

The two sides said they agreed to maintain contact about the way forward.
