Bilateral cooperation agreement with Singapore in field of emerging technologies
A delegation of 60 representatives from Maltese enterprises and agencies were recently in Singapore on a trade mission during which a Memorandum of Understanding agreement for bilateral cooperation in emerging technologies and cybersecurity was signed.
Foreign Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela led the delegation which took place shortly after a similar delegation went to South Korea led by Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Schembri. The two missions were focused on specific sectors and had the aim of promoting trade opportunities in the fields of bitcoin and virtual technologies.
In Singapore, the delegation took part in a trade forum. Minister Abela said that the Maltese economy offers entrepreneurs and others who are interested, a wide range of opportunities which include those in the emerging technology sectors.
