BirdLife says it will only communicate with Environment Minister

BirdLife Malta said that it only recognizes the Environment Minister Aaron Farrugia in relation to birds regulations, and not with Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.

Birdlife maintained in a statement that the decision that the Wild Birds Regulation Unit falls under the Gozo Minister is illegal according to current legislation, and it therefore presented a judicial protest in Court against the Government. It added that the Government has not yet replied to the protest after almost a month.

Birdlife Malta stated that, meanwhile, it informed the Environment Minister that, according to environment legislation, it will only communicate with him as an organisation on issue concerning birds conservation.
