A centre for research into blockchain is expected to increase the number of staff by 35 within two years. The Gozo centre researching blockchain and artificial intelligence will be run by the Noovle Group, which will be investing some 600,000 euro. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat inaugurated the company’s operation in Gozo. Noovle is a European company with offices in Italy, Paris, Bratislava, and now Gozo.
This came about after Noovle decided to expand its operations through the innovation hub in Gozo. The group of employees working at this Gozo base will be certified by Google after specific training. The research centre is aimed at complementing technological development in Malta.
Prime Minister Muscat explained that Gozo is an ideal place for investment in information technology, adding that Government wants to continue to attract more entrepreneurs in this sector. Dr Muscat declared that this project blends perfectly with Government’s vision for Malta to become a centre for innovation for start-ups of projects like the Noovle project, and for their continued expansion worldwide.
