Boris Johnson to insist with Juncker that UK is not ready to postpone Brexit
In his talks with the President of the European Commissioner, Jean Claude Juncker, British PM Boris Johnson is expected to emphasise that the UK is not ready to postpone Brexit after 31 October.
The meeting, which will take place at around noon in Luxembourg, will be the first time that Johnson will be meeting with Juncker since he became PM in July. It is being said that Johnson wants to obtain a deal for Brexit by 18 October, following a very important summit in the EU. If Johnson does not get what he wants he plans to leave the EU with no deal. He believes that postponing Brexit would be a grave mistake.
For the meeting with Juncker, the chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier will be present while Johnson will be taking with him Brexit Minister Steve Barclay.
