British PM meets with President of European Commission to discuss post-Brexit pact
As the transition period for the UK to leave the EU draws to a close, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to attend a meeting later today in Brussels with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to discuss the post-Brexit pact.
This is in light of the fact that discussions have not led to any breakthrough in the negotiations between officials of the two sides.
The time period is almost over and, four years after the initial vote, there are still huge divergencies including the issue of trade between the UK and EU member states.
Meanwhile, European leaders, including PM Robert Abela, are expected to meet tomorrow in Brussels for another meeting of the European Council.
