Budget 2019: Increase in refunds on wedding expenses and purchase of musical instruments

With effect from next year, the maximum tax refunds on wedding expenses will increase by 250 euro, and now goes up to 2,000 euro.

The VAT rate on books, newspapers and electronic publications will be reduced to 5%, after this reduced rate had already been applied to printed matter and similar on CDs, DVDs and SD cards or USBs.

Grants on the purchase of musical instruments from Malta will now also be extended to instruments purchased from abroad.
