UPDATED: Building of extension to Santa Lucia secondary school to be completed by this year
Education Minister Justyne Caruana said that the work on the extension project at Santa Lucia secondary school will be completed by the end of this year.
During a visit to the project, she said that the extension which consists of a new hall and sports complex, at an investment of €4 million, will be ready by the end of this year. The Minster said that this project will facilitate the lives of students who attend this school which accommodates 500 students between 9 – 11 years of age.
The Minister of Education mentioned that at the moment the Ministry is carrying out projects at other schools around the island, including Rabat, Gozo, and is also building a new Arts school.
From 2013 to date, the Government has invested €130 million to build new schools and renovate existing ones.
She said that over Christmas the work to renovate schools continued extensively apart from the expense of €35 million for schools to be adequately equipped because of the pandemic.
