How can Europeans improve water quality?

How can drinking water be more available, low cost and more good for health? These are the targets which the European Union wants to arrive at with new regulations issued for public consultation to draft new standards in this area.

The European Commission’s proposals include the idea that European consumers drink pure water, free from any microscopic plastic. In this way, water will be healthier to the individual and risks on European citizens are diminished.

While the proposals cater for the improvement of water access to poor and vulnerable persons in society, the European Commission argues that water prices should be cheaper so that everyone may consume it.

The EU proposed regulations also aim at reducing the use of plastic bottled water with 17%, while the consumer will save €600 million a year when people drink tap water instead of bottled water.
