From time to time, we hear about a cure for some type of cancer. A team from the University of Cardiff has discovered that part of our immune system can treat cancer.
In the research which was published in Nature Immunology it was stated that there is a method which kills cancer cells in the prostate, liver and breasts.
Although to date no experiments have been ever carried out on patients, researchers said that there is great potential.
Researchers say that the immune system has a natural defence against infection and can also attack cancer cells.
They found that there is what is known as the T-cell in our blood which can detect whether there is a threat to the body which needs to be eliminated. This cell works with the molecule known as MR1 found on the surface of each cell. It is believed that each cell has this immune. system and can indicate if there is cancer.
