Carbon emissions are increasing in 20 wealthy countries around the world

A new study has found that carbon emissions are increasing in 20 wealthy countries around the world..

The Climate Transparency Report said that this year the carbon emissions in these 20 countries will increase by 4% after they went down to 6% in 2020 because of the pandemic. China, India and Argentina are expected to exceed 2019 levels.

The authors of the report said that the continuous increase in the use of fossil fuels is undermining the efforts to keep temperatures low.

Two weeks away from the COP26 conference in Glasgow, the negotiations are expected to be difficult for countries to commit themselves to take the required steps so that the world’s global temperature does not increase by more than 1.5 degrees celsius.
