Cardinal Becciu fraud trial put off to October

A trial by jury for fraud, involving a Cardinal, has been put off to October.

Cardinal Angelo Becciu and another nine persons are being charged with the wrong use of Church funds and with abusing of their posts. They are denying the charges.

Cardinal Becciu is charged with using hundreds of millions of euro from Church funds to purchase a building in one of the wealthier areas of London. He is also charged with passing money and contracts to companies and charity organisations controlled by his siblings.
