Cash payments cannot exceed €10,000

As part of the Budget, the Government announced that it will not be permissible in a number of sectors for cash purchases in large amounts to be carried out.

This in light of the fact that Malta is the only European Union country not having an established maximum for use of cash.

The cash maximum will be fixed at 10,000 euro, and sectors affected by this restriction include property, vehicles, yachts, precious stones and art.
