A timely intervention by security officers of an establishment in Paceville led to the arrest of a Libyan man after he was found to be carrying a small sword.
TVM is informed that at around 4.30 this morning, the Libyan man started causing trouble at an entertainment establishment in St George’s Road. When he was approached by the establishment’s security officers, the Libyan appeared to take hold of a big instrument he carried hidden on him. The officers immediately requested Police assistance.
District police officers stationed at Paceville arrived on site and arrested the man. After the security officers indicated where he had the instrument hidden, this was found by the police and consisted of a 45 centimetre blade with a 15 centimetre handle.
The Libyan was taken to the St Julian’s station for more investigation.
