Change of route for Puttinu walk on Good Friday

For yet another year the Maltese people will continue with the tradition of the past 15 years with a walk from Mellieħa at the early hours of Good Friday.

This year, however, the route of the event will be changed as the walk will start from the Mellieħa parish church square at half past midnight and ends on the Floriana Granaries, instead at the usual Senglea.

Organizers said that the change was needed due to works at Marsa, as these may be dangerous for participants walking at night. The route is 22 km long and takes around four hours.

Participants are requested to donate €10 in aid of Puttinu Cares. More information may be accessed  here.

Last year, €80,000 were raised by the walk which had a participation of  10,000 persons.
